چکیده

Methods We retrospectively reviewed 22 patients with a history of Fontan palliation (median age 8.2, range 2 27.5 years) who had cardiac MRIs with a Siemens 1.5 Tesla Avanto (Siemens Medical Systems) scanner, 11 with TA, 11 with HLHS. All had steady-state free precession (SSFP) sequences of 4-chamber (4ch) cine and short axis (SAx) cine stacks from cardiac base to apex. Ejection fraction (EF) was calculated from the SAx stack on a Leonardo workstation (Siemens, Inc.). FT S analysis of the 4ch cine was performed off-line with TomTec 2D Cardiac Performance Analysis (version 1.0, TomTec Imaging Systems) following two tracking protocols: endocardial trace only (Endo), epicardial to endocardial trace (Endo-Epi) (Figure 1). Pearson correlation was used to test relationship between absolute global longitudinal Strain (GLSabs) and EF. Differences in GLS between tracking methods were tested with Bland Altman analysis.

Feature tracking strain is similar to harmonic phase cardiac magnetic resonance in Fontan patients: a validation study

Background Feature tracking strain (FTS) is a new technique to evaluate myocardial deformation from routinely acquired cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) cine images, however, it has not been validated in single ventricle patients. The purpose of this study is to validate FTS against myocardial tagged harmonic phase (HARP) images, considered the reference standard in non-invasive deformation anal...

Assessment of strain and mechanical dyssynchrony indices in single ventricle populations by cardiac magnetic resonance feature-tracking techniques

Background Single ventricle (SV) physiology consists of a single pumping chamber that provides both systemic and pulmonary blood flow. The typical quantitative measurements of ventricular function (i.e. ejection fraction) cannot be accurately applied to single ventricles due to abnormal ventricular morphology. Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) has become a leading diagnostic tool in the assessme...

Functional measurements based on feature tracking of cine magnetic resonance images identify left ventricular segments with myocardial scar

BACKGROUND The aim of the study was to perform a feature tracking analysis on cine magnetic resonance (MR) images to elucidate if functional measurements of the motion of the left ventricular wall may detect scar defined with gadolinium enhanced MR.Myocardial contraction can be measured in terms of the velocity, displacement and local deformation (strain) of a particular myocardial segment. Con...

Unsupervised Computation of Left Ventricular Strain from Tagged Cardiac MR Images

Introduction: Cardiac MR tagging is a promising technique for non-invasively measuring the regional mechanical function (strain) in the left ventricular wall, but existing image analysis techniques require user supervised identification of myocardial contours in each image in the study (typically 200 images). These contours are used both in the tag tracking process to defme the region of intere...

Evaluation of strain and strain rate parameters using two-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography in patients with coronary artery disease (Research Article)

The study aimed was to measure left ventricular (LV) strain using speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) for assessment of LV function. Eighty-two subjects (mean age 57±9 years) with suspected chest pain underwent two-dimensional (2D)-echocardiography before coronary angiography. Conventional echocardiographic parameters were used for the assessment of LV function. Longitudinal strain and its ...
